After much hesitation and spending about $1k a year on replacing oem exhaust filters (and gaskets) I finally upgraded to the KP bypass kit. I was concerned that removing the exhaust filter would cause engine damage, but have had the bypass in for 150+ hours now without any issue. The key is making sure you rev the ski after flushing to blow all the water out of the waterboxes before storage. Come back the next day and blip the throttle again- and this way you can get almost all of the water out before storing. The bypass itself is well made and worth its weight in gold based on the reduced maintenance it provides versus the oem exhaust filter assembly.
