Kawasaki Ultra 310 Piston Issue
If you are here, we hope that you have not experienced a 310 piston issue. If you are looking at an ultra 310, do not fear, they are still a very reliable machine! Kawasaki decided to use a stronger aluminum for the 310 pistons, in doing so the material although stronger, are much more brittle. Thus creating issues. From what we have seen, the ring lands break under load like the picture to the left. Once this happens the flame front works it's way down the piston eroding the area. Eventually leading to the picture below or worse. KP highly recommends upgrading to forged pistons, which will not only prevent any piston issues, but are the strongest pistons money can buy and also will increase power output.
